We are very sad to report that Anne Hudson passed away peacefully on 13 March 2019. Her husband, Andrew was with her as were the hospice nurses and carers. After she passed away Andrew picked some daffodils from their garden and put them in her hands.
Anne was elected on to the (then) Management Committee of Number 63 in 1992. She was elected Chairman the following year, serving for four years. Anne continued supporting 63 and started the 500 Club in 1993/4 to raise funds for continued refurbishment of the club. Her support over these many years has enabled a total of more than £50,000 to be made available to the Board of Number 63 to be spent on everything from urgent repairs and renovation to replacements of essential items.
Anne had a long and fulfilling career as a Soroptimist and undertook many roles with vigour, drive and commitment. Her legacy to Number 63 in the shape of the 500 Club is a testament to her love of the building and the people who make it special.
Number 63 Chairman Ann Garvie said: ‘The Shareholders and Management Boards since 1995, are indebted to Anne and grateful for her continued commitment to Number 63 and her dedication to raising funds for the maintenance and sustainability of Number 63 – her unstinting loyalty will be missed by all of us.’
